Music Festivals

Cadaqués is home to the Orquestra de Cadaqués, an orchestra that was formed in 1988. They promote classical and contemporary music and perform at all important musical events in Cadaqués. The members of the orchestra hail from all over Europe. Because the Orquestra de Cadaqués also focusses on new and contemporary classical music, their work contrasts with the normal routine orchestra work in more conventional orchestras.

Cadaqués Festival
The Cadaqués Festival is one of the oldest musical festivals in Spain, with a history of more than 30 years. It is a meeting of the most skilled and talented musicians, conductors, composers, and soloists from all over the world. It is a celebration of the most venerated classical to the most daring contemporary music.

The Festival is well-known for its willingness to host and support premieres of present-day artists and composers. In fact, premieres are one of the Festival's main attractions. The Orquestra de Cadaqués, the official orchestra for the Festival, makes first performances of works by up-and-coming composers. The Festival is also host to children's concerts and recitals.

The Cadaqués Festival concerts take place in the church of Santa Maria.
