Throughout the province of Girona , there is a total of 45 golf courses, and many more under construction. Golfing as a sport in Catalonia is relatively new - the first course having opened in 1914 - but thanks to the nice golf weather and climate, the sport grew quickly. Most of the courses are situated along the Mediterranean coast, offering splendid views of the ocean, while some are located in the Pyrenees and other places. The PGA Golf de Catalunya is an official PGA tour course and the most challenging course in Catalonia. This is an 18-hole par 72 course that is situated in the hills, offering some unique challenges to golfers. The course is open all year-round.

Club de Golf d'Aro is set on higher elevations overlooking the resort of Platja d'Aro. This is a difficult 18-hole course well-suited to more advanced players. Close to the main 18-hole course is a smaller par 3, 9-hole course. In total, there are 2 practice areas and 2 putting greens.
