International Day of Music
Girona 's International Day of Music takes place every year on the 21st of June. This is a day of concerts and musical performances all over the city.
Festival of World Religious Music
This is an even bigger musical festival than the International Day of Music, taking no less than 10 days, usually from July 1 to 10 every year. Across the city, performers from all over the world congregate to venerate the faith. Artists cover a diverse range of styles and genres but are singular in their aim to worship and praise. In particular, the classical symphony orchestras are excellent.
Girona Jazz Festival
Another splendid music festival in Girona is the Jazz Festival. Throughout the months of September and October, jazz concerts by notable jazz performers from all over the world take place.
Temporada Alta International Theater Festival
The Temporada Alta is the last major cultural event in the year, taking place beginning around October. Not strictly just a musical festival, the Temporada Alta encompasses music, theater, and dance. The organizers aim to make it the autumn theatrical festival in the entire Catalonia region. Considering the scope of the event and the calibre of foreign and local performers, the Temporada Alta is certainly one of the grandest celebrations of the performing arts in Girona.
